Today the audiovisual recording of traditional culture is one of actively used methods for research, education, culture and art. All representatives of various professions who use a video camera and a movie camera for their work, have not only different approaches to the way of national culture recording, but often also different conceptions about principles of use, translation and publication of the traditional life and arts recording. School and high school teachers, specialists in folklore, ethnographers, musicologists, archivists, museum workers, art and cinema dealers, unfortunately fragmentary, bring into the picture the problems of approaches distinction in recording of national culture and in further using of kino-and video-materials on various international and Russian conferences and seminars devoted to audiovisual anthropology. Seminar-workshop “Traditional culture by audiovisual recording: from field records to feature films” issue the challenge for search of understanding language between experts of different knowledge and art areas before themselves.
